Construction update - resort
The Phase 1 buildings (Buildings 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7) are all at full height and construction has now commenced on the Phase 2 buildings (Buildings 1, 4 and 8).
External paintwork on Buildings 5, 6 and 7 has been completed. In addition to this, the external windows and doors have been fitted to almost all of the apartments in these buildings, with the final few windows to go in over the coming weeks.
The scaffolding has been removed from Buildings 5 and 7, with Building 6 to follow in the coming weeks.
Final preparations for the external paintwork on Building 3 are now underway, with this building to be painted and have its external windows and doors fitted and the scaffolding removed over the coming months.
Building 2 will follow later this year once the paintwork on Building 3 has been completed.
In the meantime, work is well underway with the Phase 2 buildings; Building 8 - a new addition to the resort - is now at full height, with the roof to be poured in the first week of March. Building 4 now stands two storeys tall, with preparations for the pouring of the roof of the second story now underway. Building 1 has had its foundation poured, but we are holding off on further construction until work on Building 8 has reached completion.
Construction update - marina
Dredging work on the marina is in its final phase, with most parts of the marina now at a depth of 4 metres.
The pier elements are currently in construction at the Swedish facilities of pier manufacturer SF Marina. Delivery of the pier elements has been pushed back by two months to July 2026 due to production constraints at the factory. In the months following their arrival on the island, they can be installed in the lagoon.
We have just commenced work on the installation of the rotating bridge, which arrived on the island last month. For rolling updates on the work on the installation of the bridge, we refer you to the news page on the marina website.
Legal update
Erroneous reports of suspensions of construction
We have become aware that there have been some erroneous reports in local news media and social media that construction work on our project has been suspended. We can confirm that there has been no such suspension of construction work.
While a local activist group has on a number of times attempted via court proceedings to secure court orders to stop our project, they have been unsuccessful on every single occasion, both at first instance and on appeal (see here (in Dutch): the decisions of (i) the Court of First Instance in cases CUR202301905 and CUR202304284, (ii) the Joint Court of Appeal in the appeal in the same matter and (iii) the Joint Court of Appeal in case CUR2022H00312).
Execution of deed of division and incorporation of HOA
The deed of division to legally create The View Resort as a condo complex (appartementencomplex) was executed in May 2025. We are currently in the process of setting up a bank account for the HOA and making other preparations for the HOA's commencement of activities when the resort opens.
Transfer of title
Following the execution of the deed of division, we are now in a position to start transferring ownership of the condos to our buyers.
The first deeds of transfer were executed last month and over the coming months we will be working with our project notary to transfer title to the remaining condos to our buyers. If you have not yet received an email from us notifying you that your file has been transferred to the notary for preparation of the transfer, you may have been assigned to the second or third batches of transfers. So keep an eye on your email inbox!
